The San Francisco 49ers are in the market for a cornerback and one more just appeared on the radar. Per a report from Hays Carlyon of gridironnow, the Jaguars are not likely to re-sign CB Aaron Colvin, who just completed his four year rookie contract and is a free agent. With A.J. Bouye and Jalen Ramsey on the roster and very little cap space, the Jaguars will have some roster casualties and Colvin will be one of them.

Colvin is a four year veteran from Oklahoma who played in all 16 games for the Jaguars in 2017. He registered 45 tackles, 38 solo, 7 assisted and five pass break ups. He played in almost 67 percent of the team’s defensive snaps nearly a quarter of the special team’s snaps.

Colvin could be a great addition to the 49ers offering immediate production in the secondary opposite of Ahkello Witherspoon. Unlike the Jaguars, the 49ers have a lot of money to play with but it will still depend on Colvin’s asking price, they aren’t going to break the bank for him either.
