The 2018 NFL Scouting Combine gets underway next week, which means a whole lot of attention will be paid to a whole lot of college kids running various drills in hopes to showcase their talents for NFL teams. It also means head coaches and general managers will be available for interviews with the national media.
San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan are scheduled to address the national media at the combine on Thursday morning, according to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. Lynch will speak at 7:45 a.m. PT while Shanahan will speak at 8:45 a.m.
That will be the day before the coin flip to determine who will pick ninth and who will pick 10th in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, between the 49ers and Oakland Raiders.
Lynch has joked in the past about “practicing” for the coin flip and doing his research, and it’s a safe bet he’ll be asked questions about the nature of preparing for two potential draft slots — even one away can make a world of difference.
Anyway, the media availability should be on TV or streamed somewhere, it usually is. The NFL Network has most of those interviews, but it’s spotty information at the moment.
