I don’t know if we’ll see a west coast-east coast rivalry develop, but San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Pierre Garçon is not wasting time getting in the mix. New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler is due to hit free agency next month, and amidst turmoil about Butler’s benching in the Super Bowl, Garçon has begun his sales pitch.
Yo yo @Mac_BZ come to The Bay. @49ers we got CAP SPACE, a QB and the best receivers in the division are on your team. You won’t have to worry about the head coach being all up in the videos. All in the way and stuff. One goal in mind over here. #SB53 Let’s Get It #49erFaithful

A good sales pitch is always welcome, but the best part might be the Suge Knight reference. You can check out Knight talking smack about Puff Daddy back in the day.
The 49ers have a big need at cornerback, although it remains to be seen if they view Butler as the right fit for their physical, pressing style. He will be among the most sought after cornerbacks next month, along with Trumaine Johnson.
Although the 49ers finished the season out of the playoffs, their five-game win streak to close out the season has fans and players fired up. It’s safe to say this won’t be the end of the social media and other pitches for free agents.
