The Super Bowl is over and all eyes are now on the 2018 NFL season. Bettors are betting early on the 49ers to win the Super Bowl. According to William Hill Race and Sports Book, the 49ers are getting the most tickets and money of any team in the NFL. Bettors are riding the 49ers after the fantastic finish the team had to end this past season. The 49ers are expected to make a run at a playoff spot next season, but with the value that the 49ers are getting as potential Super Bowl winners, bettors are all in on the 49ers.
The main reason for the optimism on the 49ers is the play of Jimmy Garoppolo. He has given the 49ers the quarterback that could be the key piece to getting them back to the Super Bowl. Coming from New England, he has the pedigree of a champion. Matching him with an offensive minded head coach like Kyle Shanahan, the 49ers look like a team poised to make a championship run for the next few seasons. But first they need to sign Jimmy to a long-term deal.
To make sure they have a serious championship chance, they need to do well in free agency and the draft this offseason. Last offseason, John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan made moves that helped rebuild the roster. One of those pieces never had the chance to play alongside Jimmy, but could be a favorite of his next season. Pierre Garcon was signed last offseason and played in only 8 games. He had 40 catches with 500 yards before making his way to injury reserve. Pierre will have an offseason to develop with Jimmy and he should prove to be a reliable weapon for Jimmy. Since Jimmy was able to play well with lesser known receivers like Trent Taylor and Marquise Goodwin, it should be an easy transition to throw to a receiver of Pierre’s caliber.
