The San Francisco 49ers have both head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch at the NFL Scouting Combine, and they’re scheduled to meet with the national media today (Thursday). Lynch will see the podium first, bright and early at just about 7 a.m. PT, while Shanahan won’t be much longer. Originally, Lynch was set to go at 7:45, but they bumped him up.
We’ve already learned a lot from statements made by Lynch at the combine. He talked about meeting with running back Carlos Hyde’s agent, provided injury updates for offensive tackle Trent Brown and linebacker Malcolm Smith, gave us an update on the situation surrounding Reuben Foster and the team’s potential to maybe address the position if they feel there’s a chance the young linebacker will miss time in 2018.
There’s been a lot of talk about the 49ers as a premium free agency destination, and a lot of talk about the arms race with the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West. I expect both Lynch and Shanahan will get peppered with questions about these things.
I’m not positive how “live” the live televised coverage will be, as the NFL Network tends to jump around, but it’s a smart bet that Lynch and Shanahan will get plenty of coverage there bright and early. Their press conference block begins at 7 a.m., and the usual methods of live-streaming the NFL Network apply.
I do know that 49ers.com will have it live, which you can find right here or on the 49ers’ official Periscope account, because apparently that is a thing.
Below, I’ve embedded a 49ers media Twitter list. If you can’t see it, you can find it here.
