San Francisco 49ers offseason tracker 2018: Free agency signings, draft picks, trades & more

The San Francisco 49ers head into the 2018 offseason with big momentum. With a lot of cap space and draft capital, this is a critical offseason. Here is a rundown of every 49ers transaction of the offseason.

The San Francisco 49ers had a wild season in 2017, and they head into the 2018 offseason with considerable momentum. The trade for Jimmy Garoppolo followed by their strong close to the season has them situated as a team a lot of people think will make serious noise in the NFC West.

With that in mind, the 2018 offseason is a critical one. The team has a lot of cap space and significant draft capital. We saw several players emerge this past year, but they have some holes to fill if they want to take a step forward. Getting Jimmy Garoppolo extended was by far the most important task to accomplish this offseason. Now it is a matter of surrounding him with the necessary talent.

Free agency gets going on March 14, but the 49ers made some key moves in advance. They signed Jimmy Garoppolo to a big extension, extended Marquise Goodwin to 2021, and re-upped valuable pieces like Daniel Kilgore and Cassius Marsh. The weekend prior to free agency they made a high profile move in signing cornerback Richard Sherman.

We’ll be covering all the offseason transactions that build the final roster, but this will serve as a clearinghouse for all of the transactions. We’ll link to all of them, and it will be pinned to the front page. Feel free to bookmark this if you want, as it will serve as a catch-up if you miss something along the way. I’ll updated it with each transaction, and include an updated time stamp.
