Report: Josh Sitton agrees to two-year contract with Dolphins

If you were hoping the San Francisco 49ers would make a run at guard Josh Sitton, I have bad news. Sitton agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The 49ers signed center/guard Weston Richburg, but it looks more and more like he will be getting his opportunity as the team’s starting center. Guard Brandon Fusco departed in free agency, while Laken Tomlinson struggled to do much of anything with consistency last year. Joshua Garnett is returning from injury, and if Richburg claims the starting center job, Daniel Kilgore could end up competing with Garnett and others at the guard position.

The 49ers currently hold the No. 9 overall pick, and in a draft with some solid offensive line talent, it would not surprise me at all to see them spend a day one or two pick on a guard. Mike Mayock recently published his top five positional rankings. Here are his rankings for interior offensive linemen.

1. Quenton Nelson, Notre Dame
2. Isaiah Wynn, Georgia
3. James Daniels, Iowa
4. Will Hernandez, UTEP
T-5. Billy Price, Ohio State
T-5. Frank Ragnow, Arkansas
