Bradley Chubb drawing plenty of interest at his Pro Day

The 49ers could his pass rush skills, but it would be a big surprise to see him slip to them.

We’ve made it through another weekend en route to the 2018 NFL Draft, and the new week brings with it a big college pro day. North Carolina State is on display today, and that means defensive end Bradley Chubb will get another chance to show off.

Regardless of how much work he does at the Pro Day, he has already been plenty busy in the run up to the workout. Chubb’s agent told Pro Football Talk and others that his client met with five teams Sunday night and Monday morning that are picking in the top seven of the draft.

There is no word on if the San Francisco 49ers set up a meeting with him at the Pro Day, or if they will bring him in for a visit. If they are interested in adding him to their defensive front, they would likely need to move up in the draft to land him. And right now, the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, and Indianapolis Colts all could be potentially landing spots. The Giants are likely drafting a quarterback or moving down from No. 2, but the Browns at No. 4 and the Colts at No. 6 make a lot of sense for Chubb.

Even with as many as four quarterbacks going in the top five or six picks of the draft, it is hard to see Chubb slipping to the 49ers. Quenton Nelson, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Denzel Ward all could slip a bit, but Chubb seems a near certainty to go before the 49ers get on the clock.
