We are coming to the end of the first weekend of free agency, and the San Francisco 49ers are holding steady for the moment. I suspect we’ll see some more additions in the coming weeks, but the big money moves appear to be finished.
We’ve had some time to digest the moves thus far, and I thought now was a good time to see how people rate the additions. We started with running back Jerick McKinnon, and then moved on to the combination of moves at center. Today, we are on to the team’s third free agent addition, edge rusher Jerry Attaochu.
The 49ers signed Attaochu to only a one-year deal, but they gave him $2.5 million in guaranteed money. He can earn another $500,000 between work and roster bonuses, and then can earn up to $2.125 million in playing time and sack incentives. The 49ers clearly think he has a lot of talent, but they’re going to make him prove it before they pay out.
Below is an approval poll, where you can rate the Attaochu signing on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best. If you don’t see the poll below, click here.
