Raiders sign QB Josh Johnson

I might be alone in the fact that his continued NFL career fascinates me.

The Oakland Raiders have signed another quarterback to compete behind Derek Carr, adding Josh Johnson to the mix. This is the 11th NFL team Johnson has signed a contract with in his career. He has not attempted a regular season pass in the NFL since 2011, but has now been under contract with 13 of all teams in the league.

There is plenty of snark to be made about Johnson remaining in the league, but there is one cool thing about this. Johnson is an Oakland native, and he and Marshawn Lynch created an organization called the Fam1st Family Foundation. So it’s pretty cool that he gets some time with his hometown team.

That being said, he has not attempted a regular season pass in the NFL since 2011, so I’m not holding my breath he lasts there.
