How to watch the 49ers vs. Raiders NFL Draft coin flip at the Scouting Combine

CON FLIP 2018: 49ERS VS. RAIDERS EDITION OR SOMETHING.

On Friday, the NFL will conduct a coin flip to determine who will pick ninth and who will pick 10th in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The flip will take place the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, at 9:30 a.m. PT. It will be televised by the NFL Network and live streamed online via several sources.

The NFL Network will be running general combine coverage throughout the morning and afternoon, and you can stream that coverage online via the usual means, the primary method still requiring a television subscription. Fortunately, the 49ers will be carrying the coin toss live, probably via a couple different sources (49ers.com Live, 49ers Periscope).

The 49ers and Raiders both finished with a 6-10 record and an identical strength of schedule numbers at .512. Because they are in separate conferences, the next tiebreak in the sequence is to flip a coin.

The NFL has found no better way to settle things after just two tiebreaks, but rather than be upset by it, I’ve simply been embracing how genuinely stupid it is. It’s so stupid that the league has made a special, stupid coin for the whole thing. Still, the fact of the matter is that the difference between the ninth and 10th pick could be huge, especially given the fact that the 49ers and Raiders have multiple overlapping needs.

Speaking of all of that, the 49ers and Raiders will also alternate picks with the Miami Dolphins in the ensuing rounds. Given the 49ers don’t care about their position in the second round, an Oakland win kind of screws the 49ers over in a different way.

Below is all you need to know to watch COIN FLIP 2018!
