49ers meet with edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu, center Nicholas Falah

The 49ers were busy at the USC Pro Day

The San Francisco 49ers had a presence on hand for the USC Pro Day on Wednesday, and they were plenty busy meeting with players. NFL Draft analyst Tony Pauline is reporting the team met with linebacker/edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu and center Nicholas Falah.

Falah is down the radar, having not been invited to the NFL Combine. Nwosu on the other hand, is a guy who could end up a day two or three pick. He stands 6’3, 251 pounds, and could offer some flexibility in his eventual NFL position. He played outside linebacker at USC, but could convert to an edge role at the NFL.

The 49ers are working out Florida State’s Josh Sweat this week, and like Nwosu, he could offer some flexibility between edge rusher and strong side linebacker. The team lacks depth along the edge, and current SAM linebacker Eli Harold is due to hit free agency after the coming season.

An extension is always possible for Harold, but the 49ers could very well be tipping their hand a bit with regard to the position. There is some flexibility in this approach, and will be something to watch later next month.
