The wishlist for free agency was and always will be a long one. Nobody here wants the San Francisco 49ers to spend all of their cap space on veterans, but everybody here wants an infusion of talent each and every offseason.
The 49ers added Richard Sherman, Jerick McKinnon, Weston Richburg, Jeremiah Attaochu and Jonathan Cooper in free agency, none of whom really had much said about them by 49ers fans before they were linked to the team. Instead, the talk was around wide receiver Allen Robinson, guard Andrew Norwell, cornerback Malcolm Butler and a few others.
In other words: everybody was talking about the best players at a couple positions, some of whom the 49ers were reportedly in on, some that they never considered pursuing. Robinson was at the top of my wishlist after the 49ers added some key players and I got a little greedy, but I’m not worried about the team missing out on him
Then again, Robinson could have been huge for the 49ers, even at the contract he signed with the Chicago Bears.
And that’s the crux of the question I’m asking tonight: what’s the one player you wish the 49ers could have signed, but to the same deal that said player actually signed? Would you be fine with Robinson’s contract? What about Norwell’s? Sound off in the comments.
