The NFL owners’ meeting gets underway this week, and it is safe to say there will be plenty of spice to the week. Owners arrived to Orlando on Sunday, and they are making the early media rounds. It is already getting plenty of juice.
New York Giants owner John Mara told the media he is tired of talking about wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. and the questions surrounding his off-field activities. Mara told ESPN that the team is not shopping OBJ around, but given the franchise’s struggles, nobody is untouchable.
Effectively, it seems like the Giants are not making calls offering OBJ, but they will happily hear offers. If someone is ready to make a Godfather offer to them, well then yes, they would definitely trade the talented wide receiver.
Beckham is heading into the final season of his rookie contract, the fifth year option. The team could elect to franchise him next offseason, but it’s a tough call at the moment. The situation seems to suggest he won’t be with the Giants in 2019, but plenty can change in a short amount of time.
