49ers preseason schedule includes visit from Cowboys, trip to Colts

New, comments

The San Francisco 49ers four-game preseason schedule is set.

Fooch’s update: The team announced the opponents, and it appears there will not be any nationally televised games.

Another offseason benchmark has been hit! The NFL is announcing the 2018 preseason schedule on Wednesday, and I’ve learned of the list of opponents and weeks of each game. The final dates will be known later this month, but for now, here are the San Francisco 49ers’ opponents and the weeks the games will happen. All 16 preseason games for the final week take place on that Thursday before roster cuts.

Week of August 9: vs. Dallas Cowboys
Week of August 16: @ Houston Texans
Week of August 23 @ Indianapolis Colts
August 30: vs Los Angeles Chargers

This marks the first time since 2011 that the 49ers will not face the Denver Broncos. Given John Lynch’s history with the Broncos, it would have made sense for a joint practice. Alas, it is not happening. The 49ers could still elect to do a joint practice, but any announcement of that is likely still to come.
