List of 49ers workout bonuses for offseason program

24 players can earn some extra money during the offseason.

The San Francisco 49ers open their 2018 offseason workout program on Monday, and this means players can start earning workout bonuses. The offseason workout program is voluntary until the June mandatory minicamp. Workout bonuses are added in to contracts to encourage veterans to attend camp.

To earn a bonus, a player has to take part in X amount of the team’s workouts. I believe it is usually somewhere around 90 percent of workouts, but even without knowing the specific number, we know it requires players show up.

The folks at Over The Cap have a full list of all the 49ers players with workout bonuses. The team has 24 players earning a workout bonus. Considering they have 74 players on the roster, that’s just under one third of the roster. I imagine most if not all of the roster will be reporting on time on Monday. But, the start of camp is always interesting for seeing who might decide they want to stay home. Sometimes older veterans will work out on their own, and sometimes players will send a message about their contract. We’ll see what Monday brings.

Here’s the complete list of 49ers players who can earn a workout bonus this offseason.
