Add another pass-catcher to the list of wide receivers the San Francisco 49ers have been talking to. Double that for the small school wide receivers they’ve been talking to. Our friends at Draft Diamonds report that the 49ers have been in contact with Hobart wide receiver Brandon Shed.
This is about to get interesting, because Shed is barely mentioned on some databases. Draft Blaster and NFL Draft Bible have scouting reports on him. He’s 6-2, 192 pounds. He appears to have some good vertical skills, and good route running to go along with it. He had a solid week at the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, which marked a step up in competition.
Given the little information available (he’s a D3 prospect), Shed is definitely an under the radar option. He’s got a good tool set, but it’s a fairly large question mark on how he will do against NFL-level competition. Here’s a nice interview he had with Draft Diamonds from 2016.
