Since the domestic violence arrest of Reuben Foster in February, all eyes were on the 49ers and how they would handle this situation. Reuben faces 3 felony charges stemming from the arrest. In mid-April, the 49ers stated that Reuben would not participate in the team’s offseason activities during his legal matter. On Monday, John Lynch said that while the team is exercising patience, they would cut Reuben if the charges against him are true.

Reuben is still with the team currently, but with the draft just days away, the 49ers will go into the draft as if Reuben is not on the team. His charges could result in him no longer being on the team soon. With that in mind, the 49ers have a few options in the draft. Linebackers Roquan Smith and Tremaine Edmunds are expected to be available right around where the 49ers pick. They also have 8 other picks; they could wait until later in the draft to address the need. Currently on the roster is Malcolm Smith who is coming back from injury, Brock Coyle who has been resigned, and free agent Korey Toomer. They have a veteran group, but need to add some depth.

Jimmy Garoppolo and his receivers decided to have a throwing session this past weekend on an off day. Jimmy had decent chemistry with his receivers last year. Jimmy said the goal of these sessions are to improve chemistry and his communication with the receivers. He is also using these sessions to get more familiar with the playbook. There are expectations for Jimmy this season after his 5 game run last season. It’s good to see that he is working hard to beat those expectations.
