At first I was caught off guard by the Mike McGlinchey pick until I realized it was really not such a stretch. I wanted to see us trade down and get Kolton Miller but why go for the developmental player when you can get the real deal?

We had a one dimensional offensive tackle and a 34 year old offensive tackle. Now we have a young well rounded tackle that can help us in both the running and passing game. Perhaps Brown beats him out this year and McGlinchey plays swing tackle, perhaps McGlinchey beats Brown out and Brown has to be the swing tackle for a couple of years before replacing Joe Staley? Perhaps we have a Brownout and we trade him to Denver?

What I am really hoping to see is Mike McGlinchey leading Joe Williams around the corner while Brown patiently awaits the chance to protect Jimmy Garoppolo’s blind side.

What is going to happen tomorrow? I personally hope we pick a inside linebacker, an outside corner and a big wide receiver on day two but for now I am happy with the best offensive tackle in the draft.
