The San Francisco 49ers have added more safety depth, drafting Florida product Marcell Harris in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Harris faces a big question mark due to a torn Achilles suffered last summer. He has enough time to get back on the field for training camp this year, but obviously this is a question mark. Players can recover from Achilles injuries, but it raises plenty of questions. Of course, as a sixth round pick, red flags are going to abound.
The 49ers are adding secondary depth, but Harris’ best opportunity early in his career will be on special teams. He’s only made nine starts over 27 games, so there is a lot of projection to this pick.
