The offseason schedule for the 49ers was released on Monday. The 49ers begin their workouts on April 16th. Phase 1 is April 16th-19th and April 23rd-26th. Phase 2 is April 30th-May 3rd, May 7th-10th, and May 14th-17th. OTAs run from May 21st-22nd, May 24th, May 29th-30th, June 1st, June 4th-5th, and June 7th. Minicamp is June 12th-14th. The NFL draft starts on the last day of Phase 1.

The NFL draft is almost here and with the #9 pick in the draft, the 49ers have a few ways they can go. Most mock drafts have them selecting a player on the defensive side of the ball. The top positions are pass rusher, defensive back, or linebacker. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that they decide to take an offensive player, most likely an offensive lineman. But other than offensive lineman, it’s hard to see them taking any other position on offense. Kyle Shanahan’s teams have mostly taken defensive players in the 1st round, while using the later rounds to find offensive talent.

The prospects the 49ers have been mocked at 9th are linebacker Roquan Smith, safety Derwin James, pass rusher Harold Landry, and corner Denzel Ward along with a few others. All these players would help the 49ers. It will be fun to see who John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan decide to take. With 9 total picks in the draft and the successful 1st draft they had last year, 49ers fans are excited to see how the 2 leaders continue to build the roster.
