Golden Nuggets: Here come the visits

Your San Francisco 49ers links for Saturday, April 7th 2018

I still am having a hard time writing 2018 instead of 2017. I’m getting old.

In any case, good morning! The San Francisco 49ers are getting their 30 private visits with their prospects scheduled and that seems to be the big news of the week. For those of you just joining the program, we are tracking all the visits here.

Today ended with the 49ers getting ready to head to LSU to visit Arden Key. Key will then have a private visit in Santa Clara later in the week. Key was originally a huge prospect, arguably the number 1 pick in the 2018 draft until he had a horrible 2017 season hampered by injuries, weight issues, and a lack of sacks.

For a late-round pick, he’d be worth a flier. I can’t help but feel like this guy is Aaron Lynch all over again though. The 49ers desperately need a pass rusher, especially with the release of Elvis Dumervil. Just don’t know if Key is the...Key to it all (yeah I know, I’ve already made this joke).
