When the Los Angeles Rams decided to deal picks to the New England Patriots for wide receiver Brandin Cooks, the Odell Beckham Jr. trade saga seemed to be nearing its end. Obviously, the Rams were not going to pursue Beckham given his price of two first round picks, but many wondered if the San Francisco 49ers were going to pull the trigger in this arms race between the two NFC West factions. The report was the Giants were looking for two first-round picks.
Well, somebody was looking into it:
I’m told by one high-ranking executive of an NFC team that the Giants asked for two first-round picks for Odell Beckham. The team in question passed. @AroundTheNFL @nflnetwork

We’ve had several reports on the two first-round pick price tag. So this isn’t anything new. What is interesting is that an NFC team was inquiring about Beckham. That limits things to 16 teams. The chances that one of those teams was the 49ers probably is nill, but it’s not outside the realm of possible. Of course the other team interested could have been the Rams, but the Cooks/Rams deal was said to be in the works for some time, according to Adam Schefter. Schefter also said the Rams were inquiring about Beckham but liked the Cooks deal better. So maybe the NFC team was one in the same?
At the end of the day, this does go to show that the Giants were putting a price tag on Beckham and teams were interested. This isn’t the first report to show the Giants were actually putting Beckham on the trade block and it won’t be the last.
Do you think the 49ers made an inquiry on Odell Beckham Jr.?
