49ers announce two more UDFA signings

Add Coleman Shelton and Jeff Wilson to the pool

The San Francisco 49ers have added a couple more names to their rookie UDFA signings Tuesday evening. The team announced the signings of Washington offensive lineman Coleman Shelton and North Texas running back Jeff Wilson.

Shelton will add some more competition to the offensive line which has both guard spots seemingly up for grabs while Wilson will come in to compete with what has become a deep running backs group.

Played in 53 games (47 starts) in five years at Washington. In 2017, earned First-Team All-Pac-12 and Honorable Mention Academic All-Pac-12 honors. Started all 13 games at C and was recipient of Washington’s John P. Angel Lineman of the Year Award and Academic Achievement Award. As a junior, started all 14 games at C and earned Second-Team All-Pac-12 and Honorable Mention Academic All-Pac-12 honors. In 2015, started all 13 games along the offensive line and was the recipient of the John P. Angel Lineman of the Year Award. As a freshman, played in 13 games (7 starts). Redshirted in 2013. Attended Loyola (Pasadena, CA) HS, where he played both offensive and defensive line and earned All-Serra League as a junior and senior. Born 7/28/95 in Pasadena, CA.

Appeared in 41 games (29 starts) during his four-year career at North Texas. Rushed for 3,205 yds. and 32 TDs on 562 atts., while adding 70 recepts. for 527 yds. and 2 TDs. He finished his career ranked 3rd in rushing TDs (32) and 4th in rushing yds. (3,205) in school history. As a senior, was a member of the team’s leadership council. Started all 11 games in which he appeared and notched 188 carries for 1,215 yds. and 32 TDs. Also had 24 recepts. for 168 yds. In 2016, played in 11 games (10 starts) and recorded 169 carries for 936 yds. and 14 TDs while adding 29 recepts. for 247 yds. and 1 TD. As a sophomore, played in 10 games (7 starts) and rushed for 830 yds. and 1 TD on 155 atts. Also notched 12 recepts. for 71 yds. In 2014, had 50 carries for 224 yds. and 1 TD while adding 5 recepts. for 41 yds. and 1 TD. Attended Elkhart (TX) HS where he was named an AP Class 2A first-team all-state as a senior after rushing for 2,749 yds. and 36 TDs. Born 11/16/95 in Elkhart, TX.
