Pierre Garçon brings some reliability with his low drop rate

We have yet to see a pass to him by Jimmy Garoppollo, but he may be come a reliable weapon.

One thing we unfortunately never got to see with Jimmy Garoppolo’s impressive five starts in 2017 was a connection with San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Pierre Garçon. Garçon was unfortunately sidelined with a neck injury before Garoppolo came under center. Marquise Goodwin stepped up in a big way and Trent Taylor became a go-to guy for 3rd downs, but one has to wonder how even more efficient the 49ers offense would have been if they had their No. 1 wide receiver and how Garçon will carry to the new offense.

Well, one thing to look forward to is he will be reliable. The folks at Pro Football Focus put out this handy list to keep in mind.

You can never have enough good hands in the NFL. While Trent Taylor was able to come through in a pinch on 3rd down for Garoppolo, the rest of the NFL probably knows that and will scheme to keep Garoppolo from chucking passes. Garçon has made some impressive catches already and the league can’t cover everyone.

The Garoppolo-Garçon connection is an exciting item to look forward to, and given Garçon’s reliability, he may be destined for big things with Garoppolo. He was on pace for a 1,000-yard season before his season ended due to injury, and that came while making Brian Hoyer and C.J. Beathard look good.

Just wonder what he can do for Garoppolo.
