Golden Nuggets: Reuben Foster’s Preliminary Hearing

A daily compilation of 49ers news from around the net. Thursday, May 17th, 2018 edition.

NFL: San Francisco 49ers-Press Conference Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, folks. It’s going to be a short edition of the Nuggets today, but the 49ers media was operating at a hum today. Beyond a pair of fun mailbag articles, Eric Branch of the SF Gate brought us a “wacky stat” article sure to get you salivating for the regular season, and Rob Lowder of KNBR covered a video of Richard Sherman running post-surgery.

From there, things took a slightly more serious turn, with coverage of the Colin Kaepernick saga, and the recent deposition of Broncos GM John Elway in relation thereof. Of course, much of the focus was on today’s preliminary hearing in Reuben Foster’s ongoing legal issues. Today’s hearing has a wide range of outcomes, from dismissal of the case on one extreme, to the setting of a trial date on the other. There’s no doubt that today’ ruling will send shockwaves through the 49ers organization - in one way or the other.
