49ers host first OTA session open to media

It’s practice time! Updates to follow.

The San Francisco 49ers opened OTAs on Monday, and Tuesday marks the first session they will open to the media. Practice gets going at noon PT, with cameras able to film until team drills begin. That will be followed by Kyle Shanahan meeting with the media at approximately 2 p.m. PT, and then selected player availability.

The team will have three OTAs open to the media, including Tuesday, May 22nd, Wednesday, May 30th, and Tuesday, June 5th. Robert Saleh and defensive position coaches will meet with the media on the 30th, and then offensive position coaches will meet with the media on the 5th. The team will have a three-day mandatory minicamp from June 12th to the 14th, and all three days will be open.

Shanahan’s press conference will likely be streamed at 49ers.com, and is usually on the team’s Periscope page and official app. And even if not, we should get a transcript of it later today.

Whatever the case, we’ll have plenty of coverage from the day, with Jennifer Chan on hand. I’ve embedded our 49ers media Twitter list. We’ll likely get some tweets at the beginning of practice, radio silence during team drills, and then a stream of tweets after practice.
