In an unsurprising move, 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster pleaded not guilty to 3 charges from his domestic violence arrest in February. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for next week on May 17th. The victim, Reuben’s former girlfriend Elissa Ennis, retracted her initial statement about Reuben causing her injuries. There is a reported video of a road rage incident that involved the victim that could be the cause of the injuries that is being reviewed by prosecutors.
The result of this hearing has big implications for Reuben. The arrest was Reuben’s 2nd of the offseason. GM John Lynch made it clear that if Reuben did hit the victim that Reuben would no longer be a 49er. He stressed patience with the process, but the 49ers have had too many of these incidents in the last few seasons. If Reuben is found guilty of hitting the victim, the 49ers will move on from the talented linebacker.
Lastly, Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid were working out at Cal State East Bay on Tuesday. Both are staying in shape just in case a NFL team reaches out. Both also have collusion cases against the NFL. They are both talented players that should be on a team.
