Free agents Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid are still looking for work while filing grievances against the NFL, but they are continuing to work out in hopes of landing an opportunity. The two ex-49ers were spotted working out at Cal State University, East Bay on Tuesday. Pictures are floating around on social media, and 49ers beat writer Cam Inman caught up with them briefly after their workout.
Both are pursuing collusion grievances against NFL owners. Kaepernick filed his grievance last October, and is currently in the discovery process in which numerous owners, NFL and team executives, and coaches have been questioned by his attorneys.
Reid filed his grievance last week, and earlier this week, the NFLPA filed a separate grievance on his behalf. Both are still free to sign amidst the grievance. It seems highly unlikely Kaepernick will never play in the NFL again. Reid might not be too far behind him, although now that the comp pick deadline has passed, a team might be more inclined to bring in the free agent safety for a visit.
