A look at who from the NFL Network’s Top-100 the 49ers face this season

Game by game, let’s see which players the 49ers will face.

The NFL wrapped up its annual Top-100 players list on Monday. 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo came in at 90 while cornerback Richard Sherman came in at 64. Once again Patriots quarterback Tom Brady came in at number one, his second year in a row.

Now that we have the list, let’s go through the 49ers schedule and see what players off the Top-100 they’ll face. The 49ers opponents have 46 of the 100 players on their roster. If we subtract the two 49ers from the list, that means they are facing 47 percent of the list (46/98) this season.

Two of their opponents, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears, did not have a representative on the list. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams each had seven players on the list, marking the highest totals among 49ers opponents. Both teams missed the playoffs in 2016, but bounced back in a big way in 2017. The NFL Network Top 100 is a player vote, so it’s easy to see players getting into the spotlight unexpectedly pushing them up the ballot.
