Adrian Colbert gets workout in with Earl Thomas

The San Francisco 49ers return to training camp in two weeks, and players are getting through their last vacations and personal workouts. On Thursday, 49ers safety Adrian Colbert posted this picture from a gym in Austin, Texas — and it’s a good one!

Thank you @jhills5 for making this happen!! x xKV

If you open up the picture in Instagram and and click on it, you’ll see who is tagged in it. Colbert is in the middle, to the right (his left) is free agent safety Kenny Vaccaro, and to the left is Seattle Seahawks (and maybe eventually Dallas Cowboys) free safety Earl Thomas.

Trainer Jeremy Hills set up the workout, and you can’t ask for much more from Colbert. He won’t become a great free safety simply by spending time with a great one like Thomas, but this certainly doesn’t hurt. Thomas is exactly what the 49ers would want out of Colbert in this type of scheme. Learning from the best in the business is not a bad thing.

Colbert was a seventh round pick, but showed serious drive and determination to take over the starting role. He would appear to have the kind of character traits you want from a potential defensive leader, so adding in quality time with Earl Thomas is only going to push him further.
