Pro Football Focus has the San Francisco 49ers run defense ranked 28th for 2018. They go on to say we suffer from not having a true nose tackle and that Earl Mitchell had the worst run-stop percentage of any player in the NFL last season. You can read more about that in the first two articles listed below.
I didn’t like us signing Mitchell in the first place and some people went as far as to call me a Debbie downer for not liking either his or the Malcolm Smith signings. I am usually pretty positive and tend to be more of a homer but unfortunately it looks like I may have been right. We still have DJ Jones on the roster, one can only hope he has improved enough to be our starter at nose tackle this year but what about bringing in a free agent like Jonathan Hankins? The man is sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring and it isn’t like we are hurting for money.
In other news, how does everyone feel about Jimmy G dating an adult film star? I personally don’t care and figure whatever floats his boat as long as he wins us games. Where is Germinator anyway?
Anybody else getting tired of rankings? This whole ranking everything is beginning to drive me crazy. I am surprised they don’t have a list of the top ten guys that wore white socks last year. One more week. One more week. Repeat after me, one more week.
