Mike McGlinchey agrees to terms on rookie contract

The 49ers announced the signing of their first round pick. They only have Dante Pettis remaining unsigned.

Fooch’s update: The 49ers announced the signing on Monday. It’s official and he will be in camp when the team reports on Wednesday.

The San Francisco 49ers have signed first round pick Mike McGlinchey, according to NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero. The deal is reportedly worth $18,341,876, and is fully guaranteed.

The 49ers report to training camp on Wednesday. McGlinchey and wide receiver Dante Pettis were the last two unsigned players, and Pettis remains unsigned. McGlinchey and Pettis have the same representation, CAA Sports, which also represented Solomon Thomas. Last year, Thomas came down to the wire before agreeing to his terms. Prior to McGlinchey signing, Matt Barrows reported seven of the eight unsigned draft picks were represented by CAA.

We won’t get the details for a while, but the rookie wage scale makes it fairly easy to figure out the basic terms. Per Over The Cap, McGlinchey is due roughly a $11,419,544 signing bonus. He will likely receive league minimum base salaries with his deal. McGlinchey’s deal also includes a fifth year team option. The 49ers will have to decide on that during the offseason following the 2020 season.

There is no word yet on offset language or any deferral of signing bonus payment. Those are the two reasons a rookie deal can be delayed.
