Golden Nuggets: How will Jerick McKinnon fare in pads?

Your San Francisco 49ers links for Saturday, July 28th 2018

By all accounts, Jerick McKinnon has been pretty good so far on the field. In fact, he’s been a downright speed demon running around there. But now, today the pads go on. And that kind of changes everything.

Before, McKinnon was getting speed in a t-shirt and shorts. He wasn’t getting hit and his offensive linemen were disoriented blocking for him since they didn’t have shoulder pads to help get their momentum in gear.

So I’m interested in how he fares against the defense and with his offensive lineman now that he can get his bell rung. I still think McKinnon is money well spent, not just for his athleticism, but for the presence in the locker room. Hopefully he’ll have shown some stuff today. Onto the links
