Reuben Foster had a busy offseason. He was arrested 2 different times, one in California and one in Alabama. While most of the charges were eventually dropped, it was only a matter of time until the NFL stepped in to hand out punishment. On Tuesday, the NFL suspended Reuben for 2 games without pay. The suspension will cost Reuben $103,000 in salary. He will be eligible to play on September 23 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 49ers released a statement saying that they understand the league’s decision and that they are disappointed that Reuben will be unable to play for 2 games. It was not a surprise that he was going to be punished. The team has the players to survive 2 games without Reuben. Hopefully this offseason will be a wake-up to Reuben about staying out of trouble. The 49ers showed faith in his innocence and were rewarded when his charges were dropped. The defense needs him to be on the field.

Former 49er Terrell Owens finally made it to the Hall of Fame after 3 tries, but he will not take part in the festivities. Instead, he will celebrate at his alma mater, University of Tennessee-Chattanooga on the same day as the Canton celebration. T.O. always did things his way and this is just the latest example.
