The San Francisco 49ers officially have one preseason game under their belt, beating the Dallas Cowboys 24-21 courtesy of a Nick Mullens fourth quarter comeback. Head coach Kyle Shanahan met with the media immediately after the game, and will have a follow-up conference call Friday at 4 p.m. PT.
The conference call will not be streamed, but beat writers will be tweeting out updates from the call. The big news will be injury updates on George Kittle (shoulder) and Matt Breida (shoulder) in particular. Solomon Thomas (concussion), Eli Harold (lower leg), Malcolm Smith (hamstring), and Garry Gilliam (concussion) all are dealing with issues as well and might not play next week against Houston. Given the late afternoon nature of this conference call, Shanahan should have substantive updates.
The 49ers have a day off on Saturday, and then return to practice Sunday morning. That is followed by a Monday practice, and then a Tuesday travel day as the team heads to Houston. They will have a pair of joint practices Wednesday and Thursday, before facing the Texans Saturday afternoon.
