Fooch’s update: The Titans are bringing in Eric Reid for a visit, per Adam Schefter.
The NFL preseason gets going tonight with the Hall of Fame Game, but injuries around the league are already starting to pile up. Notably on Thursday, Tennessee Titans strong safety Jonathan Cyprien tore his ACL and is lost for the season.
When a safety goes down, naturally some of our thoughts turn to Eric Reid and the other safeties on the market. The team is bringing in Kenny Vaccaro for a visit, according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport. Additionally, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said the team has discussed Reid, and he might be brought in for a visit.
The safety market as a whole has been a weird one this offseason. Some would say it would partially explain why Reid has remained on the market. Of course, when the owner of the Cincinnati Bengals asked him during a visit about his protest, it makes it harder to assume the weird market is the only reason Reid is sidelined.
With injuries piling, some bigger names on the market will start to land jobs. Not all of them will because there is plenty more going on, but some will.
