Live updates from Kyle Shanahan preseason Week 3 press conference

The 49ers are back in Santa Clara preparing for their preseason contest with the Indianapolis Colts. Practice is in regular season form, with team drills closed to the media. But we get a Kyle Shanahan press conference.

The San Francisco 49ers have two preseason games left on their schedule, but they have decided to use the Week 3 dress rehearsal game as a rehearsal for the full week of practice. The 49ers travel to face the Indianapolis Colts this Saturday, and the next three days of practice will resemble their regular season schedule.

The week gets going with head coach Kyle Shanahan meeting the media today at 12:20 p.m. PT. That’s followed by Jimmy Garoppolo and then an open locker room until 1:10 p.m. Practice gets going at 1:25 p.m., and will be open to media until team drills start. During training camp, media could stay for all drills, but that is not the case during the regular season.

On Wednesday, defensive coordinator Robert Saleh will meet with the media at 12:35 p.m. That will be followed by locker room availability from 12:40-1:25 p.m., and then practice gets going at 1:50 p.m. On Thursday, practice starts at 11:45, and will be followed by a Kyle Shanahan press conference at approximately 1 p.m., and then open locker room. The team will travel Indianapolis after that, with no media availability on Friday. The game kicks off at 1:30 p.m. PT.

The 49ers will stream the press conferences on their website, and you can also watch it on Periscope and the team’s app. The 49ers beat writers will also have updates from the media sessions. I’ve embedded our beat writer Twitter list so you can follow along. Jennifer Chan will not be on hand for the mid-week media sessions, but will be at Saturday’s game.
