Dante Pettis having a recovery day in Friday’s pre-practice injury report

Veterans are back too!

The San Francisco 49ers return to practice Friday, and this is with their veterans who got Thursday off. The pre-practice reports are out and it looks like wide receiver Dante Petts got the day off for a “Recovery day.” This is a bit rare for a rookie, but good on him!

Guard Joshua Garnett is listed as a rest, which means that’s two days after Kyle Shanahan said he’d be surprised if he wasn’t back Thursday. Meanwhile, cornerback Jimmie Ward will be a limited participant. Fred Warner, who is dealing with a chest injury and was listed as non-contact Wednesday will be a practice-time decision. Even with his chest and non-contact designation, Warner got a bit physical with FB Kyle Juszczyk, knocking the wind out of Juszczyk in a play. The coaches may just want to make sure he won’t aggravate anything further.

Matt Maiocco reports Cole Wick’s injury isn’t anything serious, but he will be day-to-day.

Arik Armstead (Hamstring) remains out. And also not participating today will be Cole Hikutini (groin), Brock Coyle (hip) JP Flynn (knee), and Jeremiah Attaochu (groin)
