Golden Nuggets: One week until we see the 49ers on the field

Your San Francisco 49ers links for Saturday, August 4th, 2018

So in case you didn’t know, Fooch is in Vegas. Let me tell you what happens when Fooch is in Vegas—cray-crays happen. Very decisions altering the face of the 49ers happens when Fooch is in Vegas.

I knew something would happen when Fooch was in Vegas, I just didn’t think “scrubgate” would be what it was. As I’ve joked with him behind the scenes, somehow I will always find a way to work video games into this gig, and apparently I have proven myself. If you don’t know, “scrubgate” details Electronic Arts’ Madden 19 first having Colin Kaepernick removed from the game (strange, but ok) but also having Kaepernick’s name removed from song lyrics (oh for Pete’s sake!).

EA put out a statement on the matter saying they would fix things. Yeah. Ok. My big question is if they are sorry for having a “miscommunication” as they call it with their developers or they are sorry that people have found out that they tried to erase any mention of Kaepernick. Given all the chaos that has gone on, I tend to move to the latter.

With that said, I have links for you:
