The San Francisco 49ers have entered the week of their first preseason game and have two players that won’t be anywhere near the practice field in Richard Sherman and K’Waun Williams. On the flipside, they have welcome back wide receiver Trent Taylor Sunday.
Taylor had a back procedure done in the 2018 offseason for the “wear and tear” 2017 brought and was placed on the PUP list to start training camp. He came off that list last week and now we have video of him running some routes:

Trent Taylor was Mr. 3rd down in 2017, moving the chains at the most crucial of hours with passes from Brian Hoyer and Jimmy Garoppolo. He also was a decent punt returner. It looks like those punt return duties will go to Dante Pettis this season and Taylor has been promoted to work solely on being the slot receiver. The back issues could be concerning, but it’s good that he’s out there right now getting reps.
It looks like right now they are easing Taylor back in and not rushing anything, but another member of the 49ers wide receivers is back on the field.
