The dog days of summer are upon us – when training camp seems like it has no end in sight and preseason football offers just a glimpse of what’s to come. Training camp may be a grind but there are ways to weather the storm and offensive tackles Joe Staley and Mike McGlinchey are providing the blueprint to do just that.
In a recent appearance on KNBR’s The Murph and Mac Show, the pair talked about several things – like how it is playing for Kyle Shanahan and what it’s like to see Jimmy Garoppolo continue to flourish as a leader, just to name a few.
One of the best parts of the segment, though, was hearing Staley and McGlinchey do their best to sing Enrqiue Igesias’ “Hero” and The Backstreet Boys’ “Everybody,” respectively. We’ll link the segment below so you can hear it for yourself (I highly suggest doing so because it’s quite the treat; the singing begins around the 5:20 mark).
Suffice to say that the two offensive linemen may lead the NFL in friendship come season’s end – a statistic that definitely exists, matters and should have everyone excited for the 2018 campaign. If you don’t see the audio player, click here.
