NN Prediction Contest 2018: Week 2 games

Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

The Niners Nation (NN) prediction contest is back! For those who have never played, we pick six games each week, including the 49ers game, Sunday Night Football, and Monday Night Football games. You predict the score of the games, and those closest to the final score accrue points for the week and cumulative throughout the season. At the end of the season we take the Top 16 contestants and run a Top 16 Playoff contest to determine the season individual winner. For those missing the cut, we'll do a separate BIT Open tournament. Please take the time to read the rules and ask any questions you might have. Good luck to everyone this season.

This year we are bringing a new twist to the game, a post-season challenge with the Cleveland Browns SB Nation Dawgs By Nature fans. The Top 16 regular season contestants from the Dawgs By Nature site will compete as a team vs. the Top 16 contestants from Niners Nation. The most cumulative points accrued during the post-season playoff period wins the Team contest. This means we'll run two Top 16 scoring contests, one to determine the NN individual winner (by weekly elimination of the bottom 4) and a separate Team contest where the Top 16 compete together as a Team against the Browns fans from Wild Card weekend through the Super Bowl (no elimination), with the winner determined by the most cumulative total points.

If you are new here or just want to refresh your memory, here are all the rules and regulations for the contest. Even if you're returning, give the rules a double-check. Please read over that (it's fairly short) so we can have consistency in the posting.

We've posted the formatting rules required for posting your results. All times are pacific time zone and you are not required to predict every game, but obviously it helps your chances of winning to predict all the games. If you forget to pick the Sunday morning games, you can always predict whatever games remain up until the official game start time. Once again, please review the formatting rules before posting your results.

Detroit @ San Francisco - Sunday 9/16 1:05 pm
NY Giants @ Dallas - SNF 9/16 5:20pm
Seattle @ Chicago - MNF 9/17 4:10pm
Carolina @ Atlanta - Sunday 9/16 10:00 am
Indianapolis @ Washington - Sunday 9/16 10:00 am
Arizona @ LA Rams - Sunday 9/16 1:05 pm

IMPORTANT RULE

We implemented this rule a few seasons ago and it seemed to make things easier for us. This is how you MUST format your scores. If you fail to follow this format, any incorrectly formatted scores for the week will be disqualified. The format is "Team A @ Team B: A score - B score." That basically is visitor @ home: visitor score - home score." Here's an example of how to do it:

Using Detroit @ San Francisco below, if you think San Francisco will win 24-14, here's how it needs to appear:

Detroit @ San Francisco: 14 - 24

If you think Detroit will win 24-14, it needs to appear as this:

Detroit @ San Francisco: 24 - 14

If you'd like you can bold the winner (Detroit @ San Francisco: 14 - 24), but that is not required (although probably a good backup in case you reversed the score by accident.

If you make a mistake in the formatting we may reply to your score reminding you to correct it. To correct it, simply reply to your picks and post them in the correct format. Do not post your scores again at the bottom of the thread. We'll make sure and include these directions each week so people do not forgot and lose out on points.

If anybody has any questions at all about this, or anything related to the contest, send a note to ninersnation@gmail.com and we'll attempt to clarify or answer them.
