Live updates from Kyle Shanahan’s Week 2 Monday wrap-up press conference

The 49ers got in the win column in Week 2, edging out the Detroit Lions. Preparations begin for a tough Kansas City Chiefs squad in Week 3, but in the meantime Kyle Shanahan meets with the media to wrap up Week 2.

The San Francisco 49ers beat the Detroit Lions Sunday afternoon, holding them off to get in the win column in Week 2. The 49ers looked like they were going to roll through Detroit, holding a 30-13 at one point. Instead, things went south and it took a desperate last defensive hold to secure a 30-27 victory.

The team travels east this coming weekend to face a Kansas City Chiefs squad that is operating the hottest offense in the league. Patrick Mahomes is breaking records, and nobody can figure out how to consistently stop him and Tyreek Hill. Even with the Chiefs defense struggling on its own, this game represents a tough challenge for the 49ers.

Monday is a day to wrap up the previous day’s game and begin preparations for the coming week. Head coach Kyle Shanahan will meet with the media at 4 p.m. PT to discuss all that. The team seemed to get out of their Week 2 win relatively healthy, but we’ll be looking for an update on Jaquiski Tartt’s status after he injured his shoulder later in the game.

The 49ers will stream the press conferences Twitter, Facebook, and the team’s app. The 49ers beat writers will also have updates from the media sessions. I’ve embedded our beat writer Twitter list so you can follow along. We’ll have a transcript later today.
