Golden Nuggets: High scoring game Sunday

Your San Francisco 49ers links for Wednesday, September 19th 2018

The San Francisco 49ers will have themselves a test when they head to Kansas City to face the Chiefs on Sunday. If you don’t think they will have their hands full, you’re delusional. The Chiefs are coming off two of the most explosive games ever and will look to continue on against the 49ers.

Yet, the 49ers might have a chance. A slim one, but if Garoppolo can get the ball out and get things going, then the 49ers might be able to match the Chiefs strike for strike. The defense may not be able to do much. We’ve seen what it can do—which is allow the Detroit Lions to run up 27 points on them. So this game is going to rest on Jimmy G, and while I’m still happy he’s the starting quarterback, he’s got a lot to do in this game.

So this is going to be an offensive game, a big one. Unless the 49ers have enough tape to expose Patrick Mahomes, which is going to happen at some point. Just not Sunday.
