Fooch’s post-game update: Kyle Shanahan announced it is a knee injury and the team fears it is a torn ACL. Garoppolo will undergo an MRI on Monday to get a clear diagnosis. C.J. Beathard is the starter with Garoppolo sidelined.
Fooch’s update #2: It’s not sounding good right now as the 49ers figure out the issue with Jimmy Garoppolo’s knee injury. Ian Rapoport is hearing it is a serious knee injury.
The #49ers fear a serious knee injury for QB Jimmy Garoppolo, I’m told. That’s what it appeared, as well, a non-contact knee injury that saw him carted off.

Fooch’s update: Garoppolo is being taken to the back on a cart with a left knee injury. He is done for the game, and we await word on his status moving forward.
The San Francisco 49ers are trying to fight back against the Kansas City Chiefs, but they find themselves short a critical weapon. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo suffered an injury trying to gain extra yards on a scramble. He lowered his shoulder and took a bad hit at the end of the play.
Following the play, Garoppolo was helped off the field with trainers looking at his left leg. C.J. Beathard replaced Garoppolo on fourth down after the injury. Beathard appeared to find Kyle Juszczyk for a touchdown, but it was called back due to offensive pass interference. The 49ers settled for a field goal and now trail 35-27 with 5:17 left in the fourth quarter.
