There’s not much to report on in terms of the 49ers, but today the remaining four teams will do battle to determine who will play in the Superbowl in early February. The games should be excellent offensively, both likely high-scoring shootouts - as 3 of the best quarterbacks in the league will be suiting up. The Kansas City Chiefs will play the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, in a rematch featuring a great young team that previously upset a grizzled playoff veteran squad.
Of course, the NFC Championship Game will feature the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Rams, in another rematch that saw the young upstart team fall to perhaps the most high-powered offense in the league. I’d be entirely surprised if either team scored less than 28 points, but obviously, I’m hoping the Rams lose in spectacular fashion, and have the quietest, most heartbreaking flight home.
Although I won’t be in the Superdome for the game, I have no doubt that tomorrow will be one heck of a day down here in New Orleans. Geaux Saints!
