49ers sign LT Jaryd Jones-Smith to their practice squad; release OL Will Holden

On Monday, the San Francisco 49ers signed CB Teez Tabor to their practice squad and released OT Ryan Pope. They formally announced the move today, in addition to another move. The Niners signed LT Jaryd Jones-Smith to their practice squad and released Will Holden.

Jones-Smith (6-7, 345) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent on May 11, 2018. He was waived by the Texans on September 1, 2018. On April 9, 2019, he signed with the Miami Dolphins and was later waived by the team on August 31. A 24-year-old native of Philadelphia, PA, Jones-Smith attended the University of Pittsburgh (2013-17) where he appeared in 33 games (13 starts). His preseason grade for the Dolphins, where Jones-Smith exclusively played left tackle, according to PFF was a 57.2. Jones-Smith allowed one sack, a QB hit, and three hurries in 39 pass-blocking snaps.

Holden (6-7, 312) originally signed to the team’s practice squad on September 17.
