According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Rams made two trades on Tuesday afternoon. Los Angeles has traded cornerback Marcus Peters to the Baltimore Ravens. In return, the Rams are getting LB Kenny Young and a fifth-round pick in 2019. Young was drafted in the fourth round out of UCLA in 2018. He was impressive for the Ravens as a rookie. I haven’t seen much of him this season, but his PFF grade is 53.8. The Rams were slow on Sunday. They couldn’t stick with the 49ers’ running backs or George Kittle, so them making a move isn’t too surprising.

Separately, the Rams traded for Browns C Austin Corbett for an undisclosed draft pick. Corbett was the Browns second-round draft pick in 2018. He’s only played one snap-in 2019.

Peters may be addition by subtraction at this point. He had an interception on Sunday, but the 49ers completed three first downs on Peters, who wasn’t close to making a play on either of those receptions. Peters also missed a tackle on Dante Pettis that led to Pettis gaining an extra 14 yards after the catch.

The 49ers sent the Rams into desperation mode.

One thing that this may mean is...Jalen Ramsey to Los Angeles? Let’s hope not. This feels like the Rams are panicking. Trading a cornerback for a linebacker straight up is bad value. There’s no way else to put it. We’ll see how it shakes out in the long run. That said, the Rams weren’t going to pay Peters this offseason, who will be a free agent. Getting something for him in return is wise. Perhaps this is the value of Peteres.
