Golden Nuggets: Here come Deebo

With Emmanuel Sanders battling through injury and George Kittle out for the last two games, the 49ers were desperate for someone on the offense to step up and make plays. Enter Deebo Samuel. Over those two games the rookie receiver has 16 receptions for 246 yards, making him the first 49er rookie to record at least 8 rec and 100 yds in consecutive games. He even managed to make this incredible catch with Kevin Peterson draped all over him:

Deebo’s development has been frustrating to watch at times with numerous mental mistakes over the first half of the season, but he finally seems to be living up to the nickname and bullying defensive backs. Could we really be seeing the emergence of a reliable receiving threat outside of Kittle and Sanders?

“He’s a dog, man. He’s an absolute dog. And I mean that in the best way possible,” right tackle Mike McGlinchey said. “He’s got a heart of a lion and he never, ever quits on it. He was banged up today, fighting through some stuff, and all he did was fight and make play after play for us and move the chains in big, big situations.
